Czech Republic coach
Karel Brueckner added two uncapped players, attacking midfielder
Marek Matejovsky and striker David Lafata, to his squad for the
Euro 2008 qualifiers against Wales. Matejovsky replaces David
Jarolim of Bundesliga club Hamburg, who broke his right hand in
a 1-1 draw against Hertha Berlin on Sunday and Lafata plays for
Czech side Jablonec. Brueckner also added Karel Pitak of
Salzburg to the squad. Pitak is a contender to replace right
winger Karel Poborsky, who retired after the World Cup in
Germany, in the team.
