There is no doubt that the Premier League is one of the most exciting football leagues in the world and billions of people each week tune in from around the globe to watch the top 20 English (okay 1 is Welsh) teams do battle to be crowned champions after 38 grueling game weeks.

Well now, you can be part of the action with the Fantasy Premier League game. You can take on a group of friends or play against complete unknowns in this game that is now played by more than 4m people globally.

What is Fantasy Premier League?

Known commonly as FPL, the game is all about picking 15 players from a budget of £100m and using that budget to get the best players your money can buy as you accrue points based on how they perform on the pitch in real life.

Defenders and goalkeepers get points for clean sheets whilst all players have the potential to gain extra bonus points based on how they perform.

You can enter a league, create leagues and the website monitors the whole thing for you meaning you just need to pick your team each week with one free transfer allowed per week. If you want to make more transfers then you can but it will cost you minus points (4 per extra transfer).

The game has been known to make a managers weekend or completely ruin it and there is an extremely active online community around the game. Fantasy Football Tips sites and experts have sprung up all over the place and Twitter has thousands upon thousands of accounts dedicated to the game.

Draft or FPL?

This season, the official Fantasy Premier League website added brand a new type of game in to the mix. Fantasy Premier League Draft is an old concept that has been redesigned on the official platform. It is essentially the same game but it allows only one manager to own a certain player. So for example, Sergio Aguero could only be in one team in the league with a maximum of 16 teams allowed in each draft league.

This means that managers have to get together online a specified time before their league starts and pick their players, taking it in turns to pick their next best player.

This new concept has added a whole new dimension to the game and means players have an even more lifelike experience of what it is like to be an actual Premier League manager.

If you have never played it, don’t worry it is easy to pick up and there are plenty of leagues to choose from – some offering real money prizes!

When Football And Bingo Meet

When Football and Bingo Meet

There are not many games with more tradition and history then football, but there is one that goes much further back than our beloved football and soccer… it is of course bingo.

Although not really classed as a sport, it is a game that appeals to the masses just like football does.

But what could be better than football we hear you ask?

Well, we think we might have the answer and it does actually involve football and bingo. Football Bingo is part of the Football Buster group and is a free to play, social game that allows you to win virtual FB coins to compete against other players across the world.

The game is based on real life football events with each player having a football bingo ticket generated for themselves. An amount of FB coins are awarded depending on how well you do – for example, if you get a full house on your ticket then you win a minimum of 200 FB coins.

The game is based on the teams that score a goal, so for example you have to pick 15 teams who you think will score a goal. These teams are added to your bingo ticket and away you go – hoping that your numbers (or goals) come up.

The beauty of the game at the time of writing is that there is no monetary value attached to the game in any way. This is because Football Buster do not actually have a gambling license as yet, although this could change in the future. However, it does have a thriving community of dedicated (and wildly competitive) players who all compete in a league table to have the most FB coins

You get an allocation of coins when you sign up and have to spend your coins to play, but you cannot buy them. This adds a certain element of strategy and skill to the game – plus of course your own level of knowledge and predictions when it comes to choosing who you think will score out of the teams playing.

Games are covered from European leagues and it also includes international games so you can pretty much play all year round.

We love bingo as well as football and whilst this isn’t strictly speaking traditional bingo (or traditional football for that matter), it is an awful lot of fun to play.

We may have to invent some new bingo terms though rather than the two fat ladies, but I am sure football fans are well versed in this kind of task given the amount of songs and chants that we hear week in and week out at football grounds.

Perhaps we might start to hear some of these football type chants down the local bingo clubs so get your thinking caps on. Although you might want to stay away from the one particular ‘you fat….’ Chant that is quite popular across English football grounds!

This is another example of when bingo was mixed with football:
